So you get online, set up a Google Adsense website and watch the dollars roll in? Wrong! The top earners in the Google Adsense field are earning the big, big money by duplicating the process over and over.
A friend of mine saw the Google Adsense ads on my site a few days ago and was querying if that was how I made my money. He couldn't understand how these small ads could amount to a full-time online income and the fact is that they DO NOT, well not in isolation anyway.
Before we get into the nitty gritty, the truth is that at this point in time I am not making a great amount with Google Adsense but that is about to change because I am absolutely aware of and convinced in the power of DUPLICATION.
I am an affiliate marketer, I promote numerous affiliate programs throughout the Internet Marketing Niche. Some make me a few dollars per month and some a few hundred in residual income. I also sell affiliate products through Google Adwords and am duplicating this process across multiple markets. I'll not mention some of the niches here for obvious reasons:-). The point is that if I didn't duplicate what I know to work across many different programs and service I would still be pen pushing in my former offline 9-5 job.
Even this article is one of countless others. The power comes from consistently doing the things that work over and over and over again.
Getting back to Adsense, what I realise is that everyone I speak to about it ARE NOT setting up unique sites and then settling for this income. They are setting up 100s, sometimes even 1000s of sites. Then when certain markets prove more profitable than others, as they most certainly will, the smart people are building great networks of smaller sites around these niches AND linking them all together.
Can you see the power of duplication at work here?
The point of building many sites is that sooner or later you are going to hit the mark. It doesn't cost much to set up a domain and have it hosted. Plus there is software available that will literally create 100s of blogs in minutes from your top keywords.
The "clued in" inernet marketers making the moola are those that have taken action in the above way. I myself am guilty at times of looking at a plan and just not having the power to take it through to the end. This I believe is what happens to many when they even comtemplate creating 100s of sites.
The sad fact is that if you don't get of your backside and at least create one site then you are NEVER going to make Internet Marketing your full-time career.

Anyone who has recruited more than a couple of people into their organization have experienced the "revolving door" syndrome – where you recruit one person and it seems two others drop out. Realize this happens in every business that fails to implement the one often forgotten element of retention.
Too often we are so caught up in recruiting new downline that we forget about the downline we already have. We focus all of our energies on the toughest part of building the business which is recruiting. Yet we forget to take action on the easiest part: Follow-up customer service.
While follow-up customer service may seem difficult to get to sometimes, it is extremely important for future growth and improving your retention rates. The number of people in the downline who drop out should not be dropping out like they are. People drop out because they are often ignored or forgotten by their up line.
Your goal should be to improve the retention within your own team and to make your customer service to your downline a priority. It is far more difficult to recruit new downline than it is to follow-up and follow-through with those you already have.
Below are seven things you MUST do to ensure your "revolving door" in your organization stays locked and to keep your downline active for the long term:
1. Implement a customer service policy. If you truly want to build a solid and profitable network marketing business, you need to implement the following policy: Provide service and follow-up to your downline.
2. Follow-up is following-through. Just because someone signed on the dotted line, does not mean the sale is complete. You must follow-up with your new downline within one week. Call them within one week of their purchase to ensure they are happy and are using the product/service. If they are wanting to build the business, call to make certain they are tapping into the resources and getting off to a good start.
3. Staying in contact shows you care. In your prospecting and recruiting efforts, you planted seeds to start the relationship building process. Stay in touch with your downline. Doing so will show you care and value their business. Staying in touch will also provide you with an opportunity to get additional business and to strengthen the relationship.
4. Anticipate the needs of your downline. By staying in contact, you can anticipate or stay ahead of your downline needs. This will help you keep your downline happy, satisfied and even can help you to exceed expectations.
5. Keep records on your downline. As your business grows, it will become impossible to keep all downline information and individual needs in your head. You must create customer files with personal information on your downline. This information should include notes on your conversations and on their current or potential needs.
6. Work closely and be supportive. No one is guaranteed success. However, you will be amazed at how high of a success rate you will have with those you personally sponsor when you work closely with them and are supportive of their efforts. Granted some people will never do what they need to do and you can't build the business for them. But, if you provide support and show you care, you improve the retention of your downline.
7. Create intimacy with your downline. What this means is to be genuine in your concern for your downline as a person. Show them you are not just in it to get their money. You must go beyond just an order taker and help people get what they want and need. The difference between you and your competition boils down to one thing – customer service. If you provide value through concern for them as a person and deliver quality customer service in every way possible, you will find your downline will be there for the long term.
Keep in mind, the stability of your residual income will be in direct proportion to your personal follow-up and customer service. Make follow-up and customer service your PRIORITY! If you got mostly a) answers then you have unrealistic expectations of what running an internet business will be like. Don't think about starting up until you've done a bit more research and have a better idea of what's involved, otherwise you'll just be wasting your money.
If most of your answers were c)'s then you're probably not the type of person who should try running a business of any kind, internet or other. You need a certain amount of optimism and faith to start any enterprise and frankly you're just too negative at this point in your life.
If you got mostly b) answers then you have a good idea of what you're getting into and now is the time to do it!
Running an internet business does take time and money. The good news is it takes considerably less time and money than running most traditional businesses.
Let's face it; overheads in the offline world are high. There's rent, vehicle expenses, licences, staff wages, advertising and more. Once you have a computer, your online expenses are quite low, but you will need to spend some money on advertising, on your ISP costs and possibly on other monthly fees.
You will need to learn new skills. There is a lot to learn when you first start but fortunately there are lots of places to go for information and you never have to become some kind of super computer wizard if you don't want to.
So, should you or shouldn't you? It's your decision!

Consider the scenario of a business networking event. These are superb sources of leads and referrals that can be the life blood of your business. The business skills you develop in this arena can easily be applied in any business scenario. Assume you have engaged in conversation with a good potential contact. Once you have created a positive first impression start the interesting chat about various areas of common ground. By careful listening, you may identify an opportunity to do some business to your mutual benefit at some later date. You are looking for the moment when someone says something to you to make you think, "Ahaa, there's a potential business opportunity here." Suppose you are a business development consultant who specialises in the food industry and who has a good track record in helping companies to increase their margins. If you were asking all the right questions such as "So how you finding things at the moment?", and you hear the answer "We're doing reasonably well but we don't seem to be getting the efficiencies in the factory." That is an Ahaa moment.
Can I mention again, that networking using business development skills isn't selling; it's building business relationships, and gathering business information?
This should be the start of the follow up business development process which is as follows
1.Ask for their business card and read it carefully
2.Always find something to comment on; maybe the spelling of their name or perhaps they have their business in a particular part of town which you know intimately. It doesn't matter as long as you show them that you are interested in them, their business and their circumstances
3.Now this is a key moment. Ask if you can phone them next Wednesday or Thursday to discuss the problem they have with their margins. You can say something like "Now isn't the time or place, but maybe your problem is a simple issue which I can give you some help on". The chances are if you have made the right impression, the answer will be "yes".
4.Bear in mind all the time that if you don't ask the question then you don't give the other person, with the business opportunity, a chance to say yes.. You will be at your most popular at this juncture. If you have done it all right, are you really going to waste a great opportunity? Not every business event and not every person you meet is going to turn into a business opportunity but if you are awake alive and alert, listening attentively and with empathy... you just never know
5.Write down on their business card the day you have agreed to call and let them see you do this. This shows that you are serious and the chances are you're likely to do it. At this point, there is no reason whatsoever not to excuse yourself in one of several ways which we will show you another time..
6.As part of the bridging process ensure that when you get back home or to your office or even before you leave the business networking event write down where and when you met the person a quick description of them and any salient facts which you may use at a future date to show them that you are truly listening to what they had to say.
7.When you make the follow up call as agreed, review the business card or refer to your business development software if you use it and confirm that they were happy for you to follow up. If you had picked up that the person was going away for weekend then make sure that one of the questions you ask is "How did the weekend go?" I'm not asking you to remember these details. What I am doing is asking you to write down some small talk facts that you gathered on their business card. It helps break down their barriers to talking about business.
When I ask my audiences "what is the most important thing with regard to business cards?" the normal answer I get is "make sure you carry plenty of them with you". Of course you know now that the most important thing is to ask for theirs. Offer your business card by all means, but don't be too quick to do this. I think it's a little pushy and it's another form of saying "aha you want to know all about me don't you. Here's my business card". It just may be that they don't want to know all about you ... not at that moment anyway. Take note that business development and networking is about giving first and receiving second. If you go into it thinking "What's in it for me and what am I going to get out of this tonight" then the chances are you won't succeed. If you ask questions such as

·"How will I know if someone I'm talking to will be a good introduction for you?"
You will be showing them you are a proficient and skilled business networker.

STEP #1 – IDENTIFY YOUR PROSPECT'S NEEDS
What you want to do when you first call your prospect is to say something like,
-Hi, Mr. Prospect, this is (your name) with (your company), how are you today? Great! I'm calling you in response to your request for more information about our business. You filled out a form on the web at (state the date and time the lead requested into). I'd like to ask you a few questions if I may. By the way, what part of the country do you live in? (make some kind of warm remark about the area they live in just to bridge the gap, or break the ice and get them feeling warm and friendly toward you).
NOTE: Now is when you want to ask them 3 pertinent questions that will eliminate 90% of all the objections and smoke screens they would otherwise come up with later on. Remember, the purpose of these questions is to get your prospect to say, I'm sick of my current situation and I want more out of life than what I've been getting.
It doesn't have to be exactly those words but you want to hear from your prospect that they are sick of their J.O.B. (Just Over Broke), and they are looking for something that is going to give them more financial freedom and satisfaction in life.

-Are you looking for something to replace what you are doing?
QUESTION #3
-Let me ask you something Mr. Prospect. Can you see yourself 5 years from now, doing what you're doing right now?"
STEP #2 – QUALIFY YOUR PROSPECT
Don't hesitate to let your prospect know that you are qualifying him or her. Let them know that you are taking them through a series of steps to see if they meet your standards. With that said, you simply tell your prospect that you're going to give them a little bit of information about the business. Then give them a 30 second power hitting presentation that hits on 3 or 4 of the hottest bits of information about your business.
After you have asked your prospect if this is something they would like to hear more about (and 99% of them will just say YES, if you ask properly) then direct them to your conference call or give the your website with more details about your business.
Assert control of the conversation by giving them the number immediately and explaining that when they call and isten in on your conference call or visit your site, that you will be calling them back the next day or later that evening, this gives a sense of urgency, but always be friendly and respect boundaries.
What you say next is VERY VERY IMPORTANT. You want your prospect to make a commitment that they are going to make that call so you say, Can you make that call now? The purpose of this question is to see how motivated your prospect is. Remember, you are qualifying them at this point. Tell them that you are only looking for a few good people and expect to find them in the next 24 to 48 hours.
STEP #3 – TAKE YOUR PROSPECT TO THE NEXT LEVEL
Now when you call your prospect back or if your prospect calls you back, tell them what you would like to do is set up a conference call with yourself, them and a successful leader on your team.
Say this
-What you'll be able to do is ask some questions and we'll want to ask you some questions and we'll see if there's a match for both of us. What time would be best for you today (give them a choice between two times during the day that you have arranged with your team leader).
Make sure you tell them this: In the mean time, take a look at the website and you'll find that a lot of your questions are answered and you'll have more questions you can ask when I call you.
End the call by saying, Great, I'll call you at (time you set) later today. Talk to you then.
These are the steps to turning prospects into members on your team. Follow them and you will see your success ratio going up and up. I have tried a hundred different methods over the years and this works far better than anything else I've every tried.
